VR options are limited. If you.want to play with a gamepad you need a full
controller, not a vr gamepad. The cameras option locks out ALL gyroscopic
functions (you cannot turn by turning your head, everything must be done
using a PlayStation/Xbox type controller with two joysticks (one to aim,
one to walk) and shoulder buttons (to shoot with). The need to look with a
joystick and not your head ruins the VR experience. If I put it into gyro
mode I get put into auroral even if I have a controller connected, I have
to look down to access TWO controls, switch weapons and stop walking, you
simply look at the enemy to shoot, which on a controller would require 3
buttons. But on my controller I can only switch weapons and stop walking.
Controller integration could have been done much better with gyroscopic
look, push A to shoot, B to (crouch I think) X for iron sights (I think I
got iron sights) then Y to change weapon, if reloads are required a long
press of Y or a head tilt/flick/look down would be much better. If the
developers actually care they could put a "controller/gyro" mode in. Until
then it's getting uninstalled. It gets 2 stars because it seems to have
real depth, stunning graphics but completely and utterly fails on the VR
shooter front as it's either mobile stereoscopic generic FPS with a twin
stick controller or almost unplayable if you select the "gyro control"
option.
