Not a bad start, but every time I want to retry a level I have to close then re open the game. The commands seam sluggish and often wont work at the same time, which is extremely annoying when you have to attack, block, range and fire arrows/ javelines, all either at the same time or within seconds of eachother. The ranges at which your mele attack works seams inconsistant, and I was frequently frustrated when I attacked, only to have the enemy walk right through the spear thrust animation as if Id never hit the button. The health seams flawed, several times I lost while still having 3-4 shields till remaining. Needs some work, but its a pretty good start!

Gates of Hades is a Action/Adventure game that is inspired by the Battle of Thermopylae legend and the 300 Spartan Warriors story where an alliance of Spartan Hoplites, Athenian and Arcadian warriors form a defense against the Persian invasion of Greece and win against the Persian invasion forces who wanted to win Greece for themselves.



Your journey starts in the Spartan Hoplites territory and you will fight the Persian invasion forces in Greece who wanted to win Greece for themselves and also win the Spartan Hoplites and their villages, towns, cities, and the Spartan people of Greece. Greece at the time was always in civil war and it was separated into many factions. This war is a wake up call the the people of Greece. The Spartan, the Arcadian, the Athenian and all of the people of Greece need to team up and work together to win the war against the Persian Invasion forces who wanted to win the battles against the Spartan Hoplites and Greece. He has many Persian warriors and slaves to fight the war for him to win Greece but they are not the best warriors with the exception of the immortal warriors who are the best warriors and can win battles for him at the time of the Persian Invasion of Greece. So now you must take up arms sharpen your spear, and pollish your Spartan shield so that you are ready to fight this war and win against the Persian invasion forces.

Take control of the Spartan Hoplites as they march north to win battles against the Persian Empire that are expanding there empire into Greece led by the “God” King Xerxes I who was known in legend as a great god king. Utilize the soldiers that you have to repel the enemy so you can win back Greece. You have archers, javalineers and Spartans Hoplites to help you win. Keep your warriors alive as you defend your frontline against enemy invaders. Legend has it that the Spartan Hoplites were accompanied by other warriors from Greece, including: Arcadian's, Athenians and more who will help win the war. Each warrior type will have there own ability based on there strengths that were recorded in legend. Spartan Hoplites were great at close range fighting, they were the best warrior in the world according to legend. Arcadian's are useful for there long range throw ability and the Athenians are great archers.

The Battle of Thermopylae is known widely in legend and was fought between an alliance of Greek city-states, led by King Leonidas of Sparta, and the Persian Empire of Xerxes I over the course of three days, during the second Persian invasion of Greece. It took place simultaneously with the naval battle at Artemisium, in August or September 480 BC, at the narrow coastal pass of Thermopylae ("The Hot Gates"). The Persian invasion was a delayed response to the defeat of the first Persian invasion of Greece, which had been ended by the Athenian victory at the Battle of Marathon in 490 BC. Xerxes had amassed a huge army and navy, and set out to conquer all of Greece. The Athenian politician and general Themistocles had proposed that the allied Greeks block the advance of the Persian army at the pass of Thermopylae, and simultaneously block the Persian navy at the Straits of Artemisium.
