Cheaper than a real ion drive space drone. The controls are really simple and easy to learn, at least in my experience and the music is great, if a little repetitive. Most importantly the drone is responsive and super fun to fly. The way you slowly figure out on your own what you're supposed to be doing and slowly make things happen is interesting and kept me into it for a while. The most fun I've had with my Daydream View so far. Please add a claw. Every drone deserves a claw.

Hard to learn, vague hints, still fun to learn to play. Took about 12 minutes to learn, figure out and complete. So very much a short demo. App did heat up my device more than other apps and consumed about 1% battery per minute.

Controls do take a bit, but pretty to close to flying an actual drone. Took me a few minutes to get the puzzle, but then no problem (reminds me of Portal). What was disappointing was that was the only level. Good free game though!

An unusual puzzle game. It takes a little while to get used to the controls. It has barely any hints, so it needs a bit of guesswork to figure out what you have to do to complete the puzzle .

It was so incredibly hard to control that I gave up pretty quickly in frustration. Might be good, but I closed and uninstalled after just a couple of minutes of fumbling with the controls to little avail. Maybe that's the appeal for some folks? Like figuring how to tame the impossible controls is actually the challenge of the game? I dunno.

Breaks a bunch of best practices for VR. At least, it looked like it did. The drone flew threw my head repeatedly and could not be controlled any of the times I reset the game.

About this app

Welcome to Exo, an immersive VR game where players pilot a futuristic drone around an unknown planet, working to discover and activate an ancient alien technology.

Developed specifically for Google Daydream, Exo uses the Daydream controller and headset to allow full 360 degree exploration while honing players’ flying skills and precision to progress through the game.

Players will need to discover how to interact with the world through their drone to activate the dormant technology with help from a mothership, hovering above.

The drone’s scanner gives some clues about the connection between objects in the world and hints at where to go next, but the rest is left to the player to discover through exploration.

Scanning: Use the drone’s automatic scanner to locate key objects in the world and identify the towers for your mothership.
Orbs: Find, pickup, and put the orbs into the correct slots.
Switches: Once unlocked, master the flight controls to move switches into position.

From Hook Studios, Exo is built exclusively for Daydream.
