Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing WiFi-Catch (Beta) on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

About this app

The aim of this game is to discover nearby WiFi's and get to the next level.
As more WiFi's you discover the higher will be your level.

The application requires WiFi permission to perform the scan.

Discovered devices are only be stored on your device with their MAC-Addresses (BSSID) only. Data won't be send to any remote server.

You can run this application also offline since there is no Internet connection needed.

This application is currently a early beta version and still under development. I can't guarantee that the game will be working on all devices as it should. Feel free to contact me if you found a bug or if you have a suggestion. Since this application is a private free time project I can't promise to bring out updates quickly, but I will constantly try to improve the game. I also plan to add more features to the game in the future.

Note: Because of changes on WiFi handling in Android 6.0 this app now requires access to the approximate location (network-based) in order to provide support for Android 6.0.
