About this app

Octozooka is a space shooter that promises to give a unique experience in the genre.

Why is it unique? Instead of a side scroller, this game features a stationary ship which has 8 cannons attached at the cardinal (and no, i don't mean the adorable red birds) directions.

The cannons are operated by buttons that surround them. The only catch though, is that those buttons are not so well behaved.

They will swap places with each other every time you fire a cannon. Essentially, you'll need to keep tapping a different button to keep firing the same cannon. So for example, after firing the north cannon, the buttons will swap and then you need to tap the south cannon to fire the north cannon again. And it just keeps going and going and going.

With enemies swarming here and there and everywhere, getting a good bearing of your cannonry will be vital, but doing so will feel unnatural more often than not. Good news is, that makes it genuinely challenging and fun.

GAMEPLAY FEATURES

*** DO NOTE THAT THE GAME IS STILL IN ITS INFANCY***
It will feel unpolished until a later update improves on it. What that also means is of course only a small portion of the planned full game is there now.
Good news is, even that's quite a lot, and that's also quite a lot of fun.
Even better news? You have tons to look forward to :)

What's in here now

- 23 Levels, which includes tutorial levels, regular levels and epic boss battles
- A Skill tree of sorts for the octozooka weapon, to give more freedom in how you want to play the game
- 10+ Enemy units

What's planned for the future

- Ship skill points and skill tree (not yet done)
- Planet Liberation levels which will be quite different from the other levels.
- More ships, more weapons, which will of course be as equally irritating to use.
- Enough levels to get you as far as Pluto and beyond
- Dailies and the usual stuff.
