Condom Contagion is an action-educational video game in which you play a character that needs to collect condoms in order to make love in a safe way while running away from viruses that want to infect you. If you collect enough condoms you can make love and then, become a super-hero that can destroy the viruses.
It's a truly fun experience that will make you laugh and become educated about the subject the same time. Not to mention that it’s for a very good cause as a portion of proceeds will go to help individuals diagnosed with HIV that don’t have access to proper healthcare.
Here are some of the highlighted features:
-Multiplayer: Play with your friends or other people across the world!
-Donation: Download the games for free, with all the content available to unlock with virtual currency which you earn by playing the game or by optionally donating to the social cause to get them faster. A percentage of the proceeds go toward helping people diagnosed with HIV.
Selfie: Unlocked a character in the game? Take a selfie with your achievement and share it with the world!
Inventory: Use dance moves and emojis to express yourself, but also power-ups to gain the upper hand over your enemies!
Achievements: Complete challenges, earn rewards and experience points.
Global leaderboards: Can you rise to the top of the ranks?
Voluntary survey’s: Which educate about myth’s related to std’s.
Languages: Initially, the game will be available in English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Russian, Hindi and Arabic. With more to come in the near future!
What inspired Condom Contagion? The team at Globiis has been working with schools educating kids about socially responsible subjects like nature conservation, human trafficking, immigration, religious tolerance, racial diversity, among other issues. It is here where we met two 15-year-old girls who were born with HIV, however, due to their parents being laid off work they did not have access to the expensive treatment. We wanted to make a game that would help collect funds for people without access to a better quality of life, but also educate potential individuals that might contract an STD about the economic and social implications of attaining an infection.
Condom Contagion’s objective is to create awareness in a lighthearted way that is fun without having to be boring. It educates by simply creating exposure related to the issue in addition to voluntary surveys that also educate about myth’s related to std's. That is why the game is so important as it is the first video game project that actively collects funds and research for sexually transmitted diseases. It generates revenues through voluntary donations and advertising.
We are a small team that shares one thing in common, the love and commitment that we have toward our communities. With little resources, we built the initial version of Condom Contagion. Most of us are new to game development, but undeniably passionate to use games as a tool for empowerment. We have a mission, to use gaming as a way to help those around us.
We are a for-profit company with a social propose. So although we want to expand and create jobs, our biggest objective is to help people above all.
