About this app

This Chinese-English bilingual eBook app is published by Noble Tree Publishing Inc., a non-profit organization and the publisher of PiPa, a Chinese-language magazine for children in English-speaking countries. Designed especially for their target audience, all of the materials are written and edited for the purpose of teaching the Chinese language, exploring Chinese culture, and sparking children’s passion for learning. They are also a great tool for Chinese speakers who are learning English.
The first eBook of this app is Hua Mulan, an adaptation of a well-known Chinese classical story. The story is told in three different versions and two languages: an original Chinese version, an easier Chinese version and an English version. Each version has a corresponding audiobook, and the text is highlighted automatically as the audiobook progresses. This way, users will know every word’s sound even if they cannot recognize every word. Users can also choose to turn off the voice and read by themselves. The easier Chinese version is for users whose Chinese vocabulary is below 1,000 words. The words are not difficult, and the sentences are brief.
It also comes with two bonus games—a jigsaw puzzle and a dot-to-dot puzzle. These games will help children to understand the story and memorize certain words.
And best of all, the story and the games are free!
