Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Hogwarts Quote Clock on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

About this app

Just a bit of educational fun, a Hogwarts clock that displays memorable quotes from the Harry Potter books and films. I wrote it for my kids to help them remember quotes from the books and films that they then use in their English essays!

It also tells you how many days it is until Harrys birthday, Halloween and Christmas! You can set your own birthday or special day as well in the app preferences (from the menu). These are only shown in the landscape mode though, not in portrait (Just couldn't get it all to fit on the page and look nice).

So long as you have 30% of battery life the screen is always displayed, although as it drops below this value it will turn itself off so it does not drain your battery.

Now works as a "Day Dream"! Goto Settings > Display > DayDream to set Hogwarts clock.

Please note: Due to an issue with Android the clock is only ever displayed in Portrait mode not Landscape when started from DayDream.

I have added in DayDream mode, so when your device is idle (or however you configure your day dream settings) then Hogwarts clock is displayed.To set DayDream mode, go into Settings > Display > DayDream and choose Hogwarts Clock from the list.
