This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Buntata on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. I have downloaded and installed this app on my phone but it does not allow downloading the datasets even when fully connected to the internet. It got stacked just like one of the reviewers observed.

When I installed the app it hung up downloading the database. Since it won't run without a database I was stuck. Not much good to me until you fix this.

This app has a load of really nice images of potato diseases. I can see this being a useful tool for diagnostics or for teaching.

About this app

Buntata is a flexible and customisable application for aiding in the identification of plant diseases in the field. Buntata offers datasets which can be downloaded before going out to the field. This means that it is not necessary to have a network connection while out and about making it particularly useful for users in countries or areas where mobile networks connections are limited.

We would be happy to work with individuals or organizations who have plant disease identification keys and would like to get their data into Buntata and available to the worldwide community.

New features

• A new log feature that allows you to keep a history of diseases you found. They will be tagged with GPS data if available and you can add photos and notes to them as well. Share them with your colleagues and friends via social media! The newly requested permissions are necessary for this feature.
• A new catalogue has been added that shows all the diseases in a list for quicker access.
• Eliminated some bugs... And what a mess they made. (No actual bugs were harmed in the making of this app).
