Android pixel 2 - trying to convert wav to MP3 which this app is supposed to support. Go to start a task, navigate to wav but then it's faded out indicating I cannot select that file. Why not!? No other help available

I needed to convert a wav. (audio disc/CD file) but it wouldnt let me select those files. we need you guys to fix this. I hate paying a monthly subscription for music I already purchased years ago & still have.
