About this app

Experience US Open Discover, the official Augmented Reality app of the US Open, providing fans with new ways to interact with on-site objects and connect with the grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center like never before.

The experience is anchored by a new onsite statue of legendary icon Althea Gibson in honor of the path she paved for all persons of color. Using the app's ViewFinder directly on the sculpture, you will activate exclusive content tracing Althea's career and her legacy through photos, graphics, and a special tribute video, narrated by Billie Jean King.

The experience doesn't end there. The app also allows you to scan any item featuring the official US Open logo or 2019 US Open theme art found on cups, posters, program covers, and more to unlock an animation that brings the artwork to life.

When exploring the grounds in the South Plaza, scan any of the player photos in the Court of Champions to relive legendary moments and learn more about past winners.

You don’t have to be on the grounds to immerse yourself into the theme art animation. Simply tap the theme art icon and discover the experience right from your own home.
