It's a great idea and the app looks good, but need to be more developed to fix some bugs and make it better, with a fresh design (Material Design would be amazing).

It's like Instagram for engineers, which is great since I tend to flip through Instagram for engineering-related photos anyway. Will update this review once I use the app more.

About this app

The IEEE Open Engineer Mobile App highlights Engineering through Photos and 30-second Videos.

Did you ever have a technical problem you could not solve and wanted help? Or, have you invented something in your garage and wanted to share your innovation? The IEEE Open Engineer app creates a mobile, media-sharing forum to discuss engineering photos and videos, share solutions, stimulate ideation, and exhibit innovation within a technical community.

The idea for this mobile app came from the 2014 IEEE PES General Meeting mobile app. The conference app allowed attendees to share pictures and comment, and this activity stream was very popular with hundreds of photos and comments. In the next year, IEEE volunteers and staff discussed a technically-focused initiative that would make picture-taking and video-recording functionality more broadly available to engineers on a mobile app.
