I already had an App. for Earthquakes, but was advised to try this one. It is far, far better than my last one which has now been discarded. When in New Zealand I witnessed an Earthquake at my hotel and was able to get all the details from the App.

Suitable for New Zealand Residents, and visitors. Enables reposts to be made on 'felt Earthqaukes', as long as location is on. Earth qaukes smaller than 2, are not generally listed, higher intensity ones are posted - it gets interesting on how widely the shakes been felt. Welcome to the "Shaking Isles". 12-2-21 ; 3 emails to Geonet re this app not picking up location, despite location being on - there's been another shake, about 3 hours NW by road, & this app failed, again, to take a "felt it".

Constantly alerts about "unnoticeable" quakes 1000km NE of Whangarei and 200km deep because they match my magnitude filter 😢 I'm sure most users only have the app to be advised of events that AFFECT kiwis. I'm not sure if "unnoticeable" is a function of user feedback but if it's based on NONE of the sensors used to determine location and magnitude recording a significant shake in NZ, can we please subscribe only to quakes that excited a sensor on Kiwi soil and trust the Tsunami alert system?

I've had this app for a number of years not just on my phone but on my computers as well. Aside from the fact that we have very few apps to choose from on this title it is very good and I rate it very highly indeed. My only criticism would be that their is no coverage in the event if a tsamuni. Otherwise I highly recommended that everyone have this on their phones and computers. In the country that we live and the events we have had, you'd be a fool not to.

Have used this app for quite some time and found it extremely good........until the last update when the app went from a 5 star to a 1 star. Used to be able to check tremors just after they were felt, not now. I used to recommend this app to friends. Now I am looking for a new app to. Moral....if it ain't broken, don't fix it.

I am able to checkout a quake within a couple of minutes. Prior to Canterbury quakes i would have been better prepared if i had seen the series of quakes prior to the September quake. I now check NZ activity every night before going to sleep and seems to give me reassurance. I live in east Christchurch & hope i never have to relive such terrible earthquakes again!
