About this app

Beleef het Hunzebos in 3D. Al wandelend maak je kennis met de ijstijden en de rijke historie van dit mooie gebied. In 3D of via augmented reality kun je de ontstaansfasen van het landschap van dichtbij beleven.

Je kunt kiezen uit twee routes. Het Sabeltandtijgerspoor of de Tijdreis Route Leewal.

Het Sabeltandtijgerspoor is een avonturenroute voor kinderen in het Hunzebos. Met een slingerpad over heuvels uit de ijstijden en coole
speelplekken, zoals een kabelbaan en een balanceerbrug. Klimmen, klauteren, springen, sluipen en spannende games doen op de app, zoals een wedstrijdje tegen een sabeltandtijger.

De Tijdreisroute Leewal is een wandeling van 7,5 kilometer door bossen, heidevelden en stuifzand, langs hunebedden en akkers tussen Exloo en Odoorn. Je ziet indrukwekkende overblijfselen van de ijstijden, zoals vele zwerfkeien en de raadselachtige Leewal die door het landschap kronkelt.

Een bijzonder project in een van de parels van het Hondsrug UNESCO Geopark, waarin beleven van geschiedenis en landschap centraal staat. Een app, die de ervaring voor zowel kinderen als volwassenen op een unieke manier verrijkt. Want waar kun je anders een wedstrijdje doen met een sabeltandtijger?!

Het landschap rond Exloo is het kloppend hart van De Hondsrug UNESCO Global Geopark. Hier kun je het ijstijden landschap nog echt beleven. Twee belangrijke hotspots van het Geopark liggen in dit gebied: het Hunzebos en de Leewal, een raadselachtige steile wal die door het landschap kronkelt.
