UPDATE Nov 8th 2023 This app is worse than it has ever been, ridiculous! Keeps freezing, too slow, still mic issues and countless updates. Too many updates but nothing ever gets fixed. I just did the most recent update and now there's another problem. I enter a party room and the app closes after a min or two, and then you still have the original problem with the mic situation. What is going on? Such a shame because I really like this app but can't take the frustration, too many problems.

Tandem is absolute garbage. They have so many bugs, especially with their party feature. Sound doesn't work, and if you're lucky enough to hear someone's voice, you hear a lot of static. Also, notifications have stopped working completely for android users. So you'll never know if someone messaged you, unless if you keep the app on all day, which will drain your battery. Also, they randomly ban people for arbitrary reasons. Stay away at all costs.

I like using Tandem because it's a great way to connect with people all over the world and meet some amazing people and learn a lot about languages, culture, and other various topics. My only complaint is that Tandem's 'Users Online' list is terrible and has a bug. As of January 6, it keeps showing the same people over and over again as if it is frozen. It also doesn't show the users who are online most recently. Very buggy feature which makes it so hard to find new people to talk to.

Voice messages won't send. There are scammers here that ask you for pics, so they can make fake profiles to scam people on other sites. This app doesn't let you delete pictures you've sent. Other apps have this feature and also the feature that lets you view pics once without being able to screenshot it. Catch up with the times Tandem! This is a safety concern for your community. Don't let your app die like so many other apps have in this same way. Scammers destroy app usage and popularity.

The app is great in theory, but is unusable in practice. Notifications won't get delivered, so I never know if someone has sent me a message. Messages appear read even though I didn't read them, and behavior is generally erratic. Unusable until these bugs are fixed, and it's a pity. I bought a one year subscription but canceled it when I realized the app doesn't work properly.

I haven't thoroughly used every inch of its features, but so far its a nice app. Only problem, not being the apps problem, but rather the languages and the people i wish to talk to live on the opposite ends of the earth and time zone, so there's only a certain time frame where you can actually utilize and talk to them. Otherwise, it's a nice app.
