Excellent resource for studying vocabulary/reading skills using real sources from Japan. However, highlighting words (to define them) can be so frustrating at times as the selected characters often become deselected when I'm trying to adjust the highlighted portion. This is a big problem for me as this is my main way of learning what unknown words in the news sources mean.

Amazing app for learning Japanese through immersion. The articles aren't geared towards complete beginners, so you'll need some knowledge of the Japanese language. There's plenty of articles for people with an intermediate or advanced knowledge of the language, so don't let "Easy Japanese" deter you. The app makes it easy to find the definition of a word, so you'll learn as you read. Videos that accompany articles help listening skills. Tip: Read the articles out loud to yourself or others.

Excellent app for learning Japanese while being able to read Japanese articles! The unknown words can be tapped on, and the English translations pop-up. They also have deals, and I had to take advantage of buying the app and getting rid of ads. It's okay with ads, but the low price during deals to upgrade made it a no-brainer to purchase the premium version. (Sometimes, selecting non-underlined words can be an issue, but overall, that app works great!)

This app is so perfect, I love it! I've already learned so many words I just couldn't get a grasp on, all while learning some interesting news. It has way more features than I expected, it feels like several apps in one! With that said, there's very small minor things I'd like to see changed. First is for there to be an English translation on the kanji page. Then, I'd like to be able to favorite words from the other menus, too, not just only from the article's word list.

I appreciate how easy it is to find articles that interest me, click on words and kanji I don't recognize and see how it goes into other sentence structures, very much like a thesaurus, but with the added functionality of being able to add words to a collection for later review. Supremely useful to anyone who is trying to push past just reading hiragana and katakana and tired of aimlessly learning kanji without having something to read. It's like training wheels on a bike for reading Japanese.

There might be a few kinks with some the automated translations /JLPT level tags, but the functionality makes up for it. This is exactly the sort of Japanese extensive reading app I’ve been looking for. Love the vocabulary lists generated for the articles. Premium is definitely worth it. Get rid of the ads, get more tests / features, take it offline and on the go. Had some difficulty with the cross app login, but the support was quick to solve the issue.
