About this app

The Notion-in-Motion Labs' didactic app "Live Actions" consists of sets of small video-clips. Each set illustrates a certain action.

The dynamic nature of a verb is difficult to understand through a still image - frozen fragment, but it can be well illustrated in the video.
The child begins to think, giving names to the objects around him. He lives in the objective world in which things simply "exist." This is why, at the early stages of language acquisition, the baby discovers that each object has a name and uses only nouns. Gradually, the child begins to use verbs in his speech.
Some children find it difficult to expand the world of objects and add understanding of the verbs, the concept of action.

In linguistics, a verb is defined as “part of speech denoting a process."
Speech therapists and parents usually use action cards to help children understand the meaning of verbs. But the card is a frozen fragment that does not allow one to feel the dynamics, which is the main characteristic of the process.

The “Live Verbs” series is designed to better understand a verb "in action".

Each action is illustrated by a number of short videos. It is important for better understanding and generalization.

App settings allow you to switch on/off spoken elements and manage text comments.
