Just got off the phone with pioneer customer service. They confirmed that the app won't work at all with Android 9. And no plan to update it or update the receiver for a newer app. I'll never buy another pioneer product as long as I live.

This app is still working. I have a VSX-830. When I tried using it it gave me an error saying that I was using an old android ver. I thought it meant the phone or the app needed updating. I had the receiver on and connected by WiFi to my phone. When I started updating {through the app} the receiver changed to "updating". It's the receiver firmware that needed updating. The receiver needs to be connected to the internet , either WiFi or ethernet. It takes a while! The receiver turns off when done.

This app worked on my Note 8 but not on my Note 10. Both have Android 9 (Pie). Please fix the app. The remote you supplied with my SC-77 sucks, particularly in low light. If you can't see it, you can't use it. That's not an issue with the app. I agree with other reviews. If you can't keep your app up to date, you don't deserve my business. My next receiver will not be a Pioneer. Another year has passed and Pioneer can't be bothered to fix their problem. What kind of company are you running?

Shame I can't give no stars at all. When you pay a four figure amount of money and get a partially working app...until it gives up completely, it's like you need a refund :) Will not go for pioneer on my next avr.

This used to be a great app but Pioneer isn't updating it to work with newer Android versions. Really a shame as this cripples control of my Pioneer AVR from newer devices.

I would rate this app zero if I could, it's a shame that a big name like Pioneer would not support their products, the last time this app was updated was over 3 years ago and it stopped working with newer Android versions. I will never buy or recommend any pioneer product again. It's been yrs since the last time my Pioneer Elite VSX-90 was updated and it goes to the garbage as soon as I replace it.
