Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing FORTE Reader on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

I have no idea how others have gotten this app to work. Whenever I've tried to open music created in forte on another computer, added it to Dropbox to open on my android device I always get a message that says "invalid file type" making this app useless. This app doesn't do what it claims it should do. Worthless app!

About this app

The FORTE Reader app allows you to view and playback your sheet music - that you have created with the FORTE music notation software - on your mobile devices (e.g. tablet or smartphone). With only a few clicks you can export your sheet music from FORTE to the FORTE Reader app.

ALL OF YOUR SCORES IN YOUR POCKET

To use the app you just need a free Dropbox account and the Dropbox software installed on your computer. With one of the FORTE trial versions you can start immediately writing scores and sending them to your mobile device.

GREAT FEATURES

With the playback function you can listen to your scores or you can even use the app as a play-along software to enhance your instrumental skills. Simply adjust the volume and set up your desired tempo and play while the FORTE Reader app displays the notes just in time.

DROPBOX INTEGRATION - EXCHANGE MUSICAL IDEAS WITH FRIENDS

The Dropbox integration allows you to share your compositions with friends and other musicians.
