Went down from a simple and functional app to a messy blob. Would have preferred to stay in the clear aesthetics of the previous app instead of being forced to try out this hot mess. There is no pattern or idea behind the new app, save for the desire to emulate the tabloid press websites by overloading your feed with worthless videos, over sized pictures and useless scrollbars. In trying to skip the tabloid style clear separators between stories, it leaves you with a blurry waste bucket feel.

Unlike the old app, I cannot set my list (Omat) to show me only English news. You can still read the English news but you must go through Valikko > scroll all the way down > News, which is quite suboptimal. Selecting "News" or "Yle News" as the Omat categories has no effect. In the old app in the settings, I could unselect Finnish, Swedish, Sámi etc. languages and only display English. (Yes, I wish my Finnish skills were better but I'm still working on it! I want to keep reading the local news.)

EDIT: Reviews describing the start screen freeze date back many months, this one to October 2020. Just updated (late Feb 2021) - still not working. No dev comment either. App sadly fully useless. -- As described by several others before, the app does not respond to any input at all and thus stays stuck in the start-up screen. Closing, clearing cache, reinstalling - no luck. Samsung A5, Android 8.0

Frustrating. The start screen freezes and nothing happens. This issue is apparent reported since many years. How can you even consider advertising this sort of app on your website?

Great app, could have filtering options. Except the 2021 May update is causing a lot of issues. Including not starting at all anymore, on a Galaxy A50.
