This occurs as a result of the brain ceasing to perceive the direction and interpreting the previous sounds as a reverberation or an echo of the first.
8D music or 8D sound is a type of sound that seems to come from all directions. Although it seems a novel technique, the truth is that it has its origin in the 80s.
