About this app

The BHECN Careers App

The Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska (BHECN pronounced Beacon) in partnership with United HealthCare Foundation (UHC) developed the BHECN Careers App to assist students and early career professionals by giving them a platform to connect with mentors and supervisors across the state of Nebraska.

It can be challenging to find a behavioral health mentor. The BHECN Careers App helps remove the distance barrier and encourages mentorship connections across the state. Among the variety of features, you can take a quiz to discover ideas for which BH careers you might want to learn more about. You can also follow the links to NEBHjobs.com and search for current job openings and post your resume. Also, connect with other students in the app and get help navigating your career path with experienced behavioral health professionals, among other resources.

2-Minute Discovery Quiz: Take the quiz to get an idea of what behavioral health careers you might want to consider. Although this non-scientific quiz can give you a new perspective, the quiz is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of which behavioral health careers you should consider. The road to your dream career will be an ongoing journey influenced by your life experiences, opportunities, and environmental factors.

Link to Jobs in Behavioral Health: Our Nebraska Behavioral Health Jobs website is FREE to search current job openings across the state! You can also post your resume and apply for jobs, internships and potentially land an interview! If you are an employer, it’s free to post job openings and internships!

Link to Free Continuing Education: Are you in need of continuing education to maintain your license? BHECN provides webinars, many of which provide continuing education.

Behavioral Health Career Pathways & PDF Download: Explore behavioral health careers, educational requirements, work environments, and salary estimates! Learn about the colleges and universities in Nebraska that provide education for licensed behavioral health professions. You can also download a copy of the Behavioral Health Career Pathways pdf.

Mentor Search: Search for mentors by specialty and location to help guide you along in your journey to a behavioral health professional career! *Mentorships can be short-term or long-term.

Supervisor Search: Use the supervisor map to search for available professionals near you! Any fees and agreements associated with supervision are solely the responsibility of the supervisor and the supervisee. BHECN does not endorse or assume any liability for the supervisors or supervision services offered. It is up to the user to determine if the professional(s) you pick have the correct licensure and credentials. Consult state regulations or your professional associations for supervision and license/credential information.

Student Connect: Do you have questions, want resources or tips on behavioral health professions? Navigate to the “Student Connect” button on your device to chat with peers and experts!

The Student Connect is for professional connections only and will be monitored. If we find that someone is being inappropriate, their account will be suspended, there will be an investigation and if necessary, they will be blocked from the app.

Any accounts created or containing false information will be suspended until further investigation to determine whether the account is valid.
