I got the app using a code, which is valid for 2 years only (this should be noted somewhere), from the physical dict purchase. The interface is snappy and clean. Many entries have contextual usages. However, the degree of details varies from entry to entry and some are just lazy one-liners. The gender of the nouns is not included and voice aloud is not available for German words ("Baum" doesn't even come with phonetic). Plural forms are available but require a separate search.

This is a very useful resource, but it's quite basic, with few examples of usage, and there are omissions, inconsistencies and oversights. Most annoyingly, the plural form of a noun is sometimes not given, even if the plural is irregular.

Langenscheit is respected so I paid a lot with high expectations. Content may be great but the user interface is the worst by far of any of the dictionaries I've got. What little it offers is geared towards German speakers, it is dismal in the opposite direction. Langenscheit tell me to seek a refund from playstore. Playstore tells me to seek a refund from the developers. I gave it several weeks hoping I'd get used to the interface. I did not. I expect I won't get my money back. Don't buy this app, and don't waste your time with the supposedly free introduction. It does not enable you to assess the app without buying it.

After installing, the app shows that you need to pay. I click on Try option, type in 'einsetzen' and it tells me that I need to pay for that word. Waste of time.
