Im really impressed with the app. It has just about every little feature you can think of that the receiver can do. With one notable exception. Why haven't you guys built a scrubber into the app when you load MP3s via the USB input? Play music through the USB port is crippled. The only thing you can do is pause stop next song or last song. Every single app these days what's plays music as a scrubber. Where is yours?

This was a great app but a few days ago it lost most of its functionality. On Pandora, for example, it no longer shows the album or song that is playing. I can't skip a song and the thumbs-up and down no longer work. I can still control the sound. Basically useless now.

This is a barely adequate app and the wrong one to use. Try MusicCast. That one supports every feed imaginable. It presents all sorts but you can modify the presentation to only list the feeds you use. I have a Yamaha R-N302 with a 256Gb thumb drive plugged in and it indexes very well all of my tracks. Yamaha is limited to folders 16 levels deep and a maximum 500 tracks per folder. Only one device can be in control of the receiver at a time, but I have MusicCast installed on two tablets.

Currently the best AVR app Out there. I must admit that I am a nerd. Having a good smartphone app is key to my use of my AVR's. I previously owned a Pioneer Elite VSX-52. Hands down the Pioneer iControl AV5 was the best app going. However it is buggy and seems to not be supported by Pioneer/Onkyo. Too Bad! I now own two Yamaha recievers; RX-A780 and the RX-A1080. The AV Controller app is rock solid, allowing multiple devices to connect and control the receiver at once. Most functions are a available though its user interface. It supports a wide range of their Wifi/Ethernet connected receivers. the inputs and sound modes screens are customizable. The overall user interface is actually easier to navigate than the the Pioneer app. I only wish this app allowed the accessing of the YPAO data as does the Pioneer-MCACC. They have captured a subset of the controls and it seems to be stable so, i'm content.

Unpleasant experience using the app with my RX A2080. It used to work perfectly for years with my older RX A020. My particular gripe is it's inability to give me a stable connection to my pc music server. I've resorted to a third party app that's a joy to use with my receiver instead. I only use the app to so basic functions eg volume control. Disappointed

It used to work and was amazing... Now it doesn't detect the yamaha RX-V583, and therefore is useless. It's on the same network. I even tried manual up input. still nothing.
