About this app

Led by volunteers from the local community Warminster Civic Trust, and supported by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the aim of the project was to identify and locate the boundaries and layout of the early medieval settlement believed to be in the area of the modern day Minster Church of St Denys.

Professional and amateur archaeologists and historians, provided skills, training, resources, and talks for volunteers, who helped to carry out research, building surveys, photography, and geophysical surveys.

At the close of the project, the detailed written analysis and other information obtained, has been made freely accessible to the public and those carrying out academic research into this period of history through an app for android and apple devices as well as a CD Rom and through computer access in the Library and Museum building.
