About this app

The Zimbabwe Union of Journalists (ZUJ) traces its history to the Guild of Journalists, formed in the early 1950s by journalists who had been active in what had been the Rhodesia branch of the South African Society of Journalists (SASJ).The leading figure in the establishment of the Guild was the late Claude Cook, founder-editor of the Inter-African News-Agency (IANA), which later became Zimbabwe News Agency (ZIANA). Other prominent founders of the Guild included John Spicer and George Addecott.
