About this app

Movie-Navigator.com is the best app to find movies about topics of your interest!

So far most movie databases (e.g., IMDB) and streaming providers (e.g., Netflix, Amazon, Hulu) allow you to search movies by genre such as Comedy, Drama, or Thriller. However, we believe that this classification is too generic in many situations: for instance, you might be interested in movies about your current job, about a city that you plan to visit, or about an instrument that you want to learn.

Therefore, we provide you with this information and sort movies by categories and topics that the movies are about ("topic-fit"). You can use Movie-Navigator.com to search movies by category and topic, sort them according to IMDB score etc., rate movies according to their topic-fit, find movies that are similar to a particular movie, and store the best movies to your watchlist. If you like us, please tell your friends about it and share us on Facebook etc. – otherwise, please send us feedback on how we can improve as we have just started and are eager to learn from you.

Main features of the app include:
- Search movies by categories (e.g., animals, love, sport) and topics within these categories (e.g., American football, baseball, basketball, ice hockey etc. for sport)
- Sort movies according to your needs (e.g., IMDB rating, topic-fit, release year, alphabetically, etc.)
- Rate movies by their topic fit (e.g., is the movie “The Hangover” about the topic “Bachelor party”?)
- Search movies that are similar to each other, i.e., movies about the same or related topics, with similar genre, director, actors etc. – e.g., as similar to “The Hangover” you will of course find the following sequels (“The Hangover Part II”, “The Hangover Part III”) but also movies with other similarities such as “Last Vegas”, “What happens in Vegas”, and “Due Date”)
- Save the best movies that you want to watch to your watchlist

The app currently includes movies about the following categories and associated topics (we are frequently expanding the database):
- Animals: Apes, Bears, Cats, Dogs, Elephants, Horses, Lions, Pigs, Whales, …
- Cities: Berlin, Boston, Hamburg, Jerusalem, Las Vegas, London, Munich, New York, …
