About this app

During 1980's many statues and idols of various Gods and Goddess where stolen from Kathmandu Valley and near by cities of Nepal and taken to international market. Most of us have only heard about it and we must be curious to see those stolen images.

People like Mr. Lain Sing Bangel have done great contribution to preserve forgotten history of Nepal through his photographic collection and knowledge.
Mr. Leroy Allen Ehreinreich, an American collector have returned some beautiful idols.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York USA also returned some idols to Nepal once they knew that those idols were stolen from Nepal.

We could have seen those idols but lack of knowledge about its history and not knowing that those idols were stolen from Nepal, we are silent.
I assume once people know that those idols were stolen from Nepal they would help them get back to Nepal like Mr. Ehreinreich and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Its been more than 4 decade but only few of those stolen idols are returned and with time we are slowly forgetting about those beautiful idols.

In this application I have tried to show images of those idols with small description. I have tried to inform that these idols are stolen from Nepal and we would be very thankful if any one inform about those idols and help them get back to Nepal.

Please contact to Department of Archaeology (DoA) of Nepal if you have any information regarding those idols.

Lastly share those images in social media so that there will be more possibility to find them and return them where they truly belong.
