Universiti Malaysia Sabah melalui Jabatan Pendaftar bakal menganjurkan salah satu majlis utama Universiti iaitu Majlis Anugerah Kecemerlangan Universiti (AKU) 2014 Universiti Malaysia Sabah yang merupakan manifestasi dan komitment pihak pengurusan untuk menghargai sumbangan dan kecemerlangan kakitangan UMS.

Pelaksanaan majlis ini adalah dengan harapan agar budaya kerja cemerlang, mengutamakan kualiti, kreatif dan inovatif menjadi amalan berterusan demi memastikan kecemerlangan Universiti umumnya disamping itu diibaratkan sebagai galakan dan intensif supaya semua kakitangan dari segenap lapisan perjawatan sentiasa beriltizam untuk menunjukkan prestasi cemerlang dalam bidang masing-masing. Bagaimanpun, tidak dapat dinafikan bahawa kecemerlangan sesebuah organisasi bukanlah bergantung kepada kecemerlangan individu semata-mata sebaliknya dipengaruhi juga oleh komitmen dan kerjasama kolektif.


Objektif majlis adalah seperti berikut:

i. Mengiktiraf, menghargai dan memperingati sumbangan serta perkhidmatan cemerlang para kakitangan, pentadbiran, akademik mahupun pesara di UMS.

ii. Menghargai kakitangan dan Jabatan/Sekolah yang telah menunjukkan prestasi kerja cemerlang, kreativiti dan inovasi yang tinggi
