About this app

La historia de Radio Yungas no se inicia en 1978, año de su inauguración oficial. Antes de este año, la emisora tiene escrita varias paginas en su historia. En el año 1970 los Padres Agustinos Jaime Postma, Gerardo Lelien, Juan José Vrijsen, Nicolas Beumen y David Boing maduran la idea de tener una radio para Los Yungas, con la finalidad de facilitar el trabajo de catequesis que llevaron adelante, desde la década del treinta.

El primer financiamiento para la compra de equipos lo otorgó un empresario holandés, cuñado del reverendo Jaime Postma. Las emisiones experimentales se inician con equipos caseros instalados en el Centro de Capacitación de Lavi Grande, a unos 7 kilómetros de Irupana. Durante esta primera experiencia, la radio presenta una programación variada, con avisos, información, música, donde predominan los programas religiosos.
