The Troy Oz® Précis application helps precious metals investors keep up with the market trends and helps track the performance of their assets.
★ Marquee scrolling through pricing of gold, silver, platinum, palladium, HUI, DOW, S&P500, NASDAQ, VIX, US Dollar Index & Bitcoin. (Note: Price quotes are slightly delayed.) Tap on the marquee to bring up a screen listing of all commodities/indices and their respective pricing data.
★ Set price alerts on any of the above commodities/indices. Alerts can be set to be received in 3 different pop-up modes: None, Soft & Disruptive. Alert tones can be set to any tone. The home screen icon displays the number of unacknowledged price alerts that have been received (see installation notes).
★ Summary tables indicate performance & statistics for the Spot Market, ETFs, US Mint, Retail Perspectives, Commodity Futures, Warehousing, Daily Delivery and even COT analysis. Tables sorted by date, which allows easy navigation by selecting specific dates by tapping on the header or swiping the screen backwards to get previous day's data. Use the copy/paste functionality to take personal notes or send data to associates or friends.
★ News feed reveals both main-stream and alternative sources for headline events for the current day. Tap on a headline to read a brief description of the news item. Tap on the item to be directed to the full story using the web browser. Historical headlines available by date as well. Simply tap on the header to choose the date or swipe the screen backwards to get the previous day's headlines.
★ Analyze the statistical information by using the chart interfaces. Easily graph the historical perspectives for spot prices, ETF statistics, US Mint sales, Retail inventories & availability, Warehousing & Deliveries related to the Futures markets & Regulatory reporting via Commitment of Traders (COT). Select start and end dates to limit the chart data boundaries. Each chart category has its own parameters, which allow specific details to be graphed.
★ Tapping on a chart brings up another activity allowing zoom-in and scroll capabilities to inspect finer details of charts if needed.
★ Easily save chart images to your personal gallery. Or share a chart directly with associates and friends by selecting the share option, which will send the chart image to any app you have installed that supports sharing images.
Installation:
Please note that after installation, the Troy Oz® Précis application will be available in the applications drawer, from which you can drag its icon to the home screen of your choice. Additionally, the Troy Oz® Précis widget is available in the widgets drawer. The widget has an extra feature within its home screen icon that maintains a numerical representation of the number of price-alert notifications that have been received. (This is similar to the functionality seen in email and chat apps.) If you want your home screen icon to display this information, drag and drop the Troy Oz® Précis widget from the widgets drawer to the home screen of your choice.
During installation, the following permissions will be requested:
Wake Lock permission is required during price alert notifications in order to wake the device up if it is idling in sleep mode. Note that the device is not prevented from going back to sleep once the notification has been displayed.
Read and Write permission to the SD card (external storage). This is required for the saving of charts to the gallery. This application will create a separate directory/album in the gallery called TroyOzCharts, which will contain any charts the user decides to save or share.
Network Access is required for communication to and from the back-end server to get data, charts and price alerts.
