Didn't find this at all helpful for me so converted to the cds for the laptop or to the highway code book instead which I managed to pass first time using.

There are some major text issues, for example the entire speed limits table is missing even though it is referenced in the next paragraph and rules are missing, for example rule 141. When the app goes into the background the page you are on returns to the top - a major issue if you are taking notes while you read as when you switch back to the app you have to re-find your place in the section every time. Copy and paste would be nice too.

The Highway code itself is set out nicely into sections and a good coat index. However the voice for the listening is an awful computer generated voice, which, unless you are reading along with it, makes little sense at times. The words are all run into one at parts, DVLA is pronounced as a word rather than the individual letters and other words pronounced incorrectly. I was going to use it to listen to while walking to and from work, but it is not suitable for this at all.

Has all the info and signs needed for the theory test. Even has a button on the main menu that lets you download the test app.

About this app

Read and listen to the full and latest version of The Highway Code (up to date for 2019 & 2020 theory tests).

This app contains all of The Highway Code images (including all road signs) that will be essential knowledge for both the practical and theory driving tests.

It well worth knowing The Highway Code not just to pass your test but because many of the rules in the Code are legal requirements. If you break them you may be fined, given penalty points on your licence or be disqualified from driving. Such rules are identified by the use of the words ‘MUST/MUST NOT’. In addition, the rule includes an abbreviated reference to the legislation which creates the offence.

Rules which are advisory use wording such as ‘should/should not’ or ‘do/do not’.

Knowing and applying the rules contained in The Highway Code could significantly reduce road casualties. Cutting the number of deaths and injuries that occur on our roads every day.

Unlike buying The Highway Code as a book this app and its contents are completely free.

The app uses your phone's text to speech engine so you can listen to The Highway Code read aloud as well as reading it in the app.

We hope you find The Highway Code app useful!
