About this app

“Like I know you like talk like this. It’s like the way like everybody speaks. Right?”

If you do speak like this or you know someone who does, this app can help improve your speech.

The Like You Know app is not only educational, it is also fun to use. It is the only app that allows the user to record a conversation and returns statistical data on what was said. The app analyses the conversation for filler words and displays what was said and how often the filler word was used. This information can be used to help improved the way a person speaks.

Here’s how it works: Almost everybody says "filler words" when they speak. This app allows its users to improve their speech by helping and training them to curb the usage of the most common repetitive filler words (i.e. “Like”, “basically” etc.). This app makes use of the speech recognition module that records the user’s conversation and detects the chosen word within a list of the most commonly used "filler" words or you can type in your own filler word (profanity is not allowed and will be automatically filtered out of your typed word. A message alerts the user to type in a more friendly word). Once the user is finished recording the conversation, they tap the "Results" button to reveal how many words were spoken and how many times the filler word was spoken in their conversation. The "Analyze" button will tell them the total percentage of the conversation that a filler word was used. As stated earlier, this app will guide and assist in improving the user’s speech skills.

This app would be a great tool for all users, especially students, professionals, professors, etc. The user can also have fun with the app by recording others and make a game out of it.
