Soulmates has been a pleasure for me wrt the wealth of really rich profiles - something that is scarce with many other platforms. That is why I initially gave 5*. But due to the app's deficiencies mentioned in other reviews, I give 4*. As a longtime Guardian reader, I'm not surprised to find many people strongly resonating with me wrt their values and interests. I will miss Soulmates, and I don't yet see where its users will find what Soulmates offers. Any interesting pointers appreciated.

Hi, I subscribed to the site on 14th April. After communicating with people for a while, I then noticed that the subscription cost had been paid back into my account on 17th. I don't know why this is and it seems to mean that I can't see/send messages or 'likes'. I also can't seem to send emails to email support via the app. Can you tell me what's going on? Thanks

Not as good as the website. This app has one (and only one) advantage over using the website, and that is that it remembers your login details. But it has the following drawbacks: * There's no page that lists recently joined members. * The photos are shown in lower resolution. * There's no way to search by username. * It doesn't show when a user was last online. In summary, if they just changed the website so that it remembered your login details for longer, then they could have not bothered creating this app at all, and we would have a better use experience.

Took a punt on paying for this app and didn't use it or find it particularly good. Haven't used it for a couple of months and was really appalled not to receive a notification or any information from Guardian Soulmates that they were going to automatically renew my subscription. They then auto renewed it without my consent and have charged me more money then I was supposed to have signed up to in the first place. I feel swindled by this app.

Difficult to use app on mobile (Samsung Android), often you can't read what is on the bottom of the screen as the text just sits under another banner, and the messaging function is also pretty poor as exactly the same thing is happening as noted above...once you type down to the bottom of the screen that's it, you can't scroll the screen up, so you're essentially typing 'blindl'. Please sort this out if possible. It's irritating to have to switch to the desktop site.

I took out a 6 month subscription. They then took another 6 months cash from my bank. No notification. Nothing. I had not used the app for several months. I tried to obtain a refund.... Google say it's the developer, the developer say it's Google. No refund. Just ripped off. I am seeking legal recourse. Save yourself the hassle. Do not subscribe.
