al-Imam al-jalil Wajihuddin Abdurrahman bin Muhammad bin Umar bin Ali
bin Yusuf bin Ahmad bin Umar ad-Diba'i asy-Syaibani al-Yamani az-Zabidi
asy-Syafi'i atau biasa dikenal dengan Imam Abdurrahman Ad Diba'i. beliau
lahir pada tahun 866 H dan meninggal pada tahun 944 H. beliau juga
seorang yang jujur, lemah lembut tutur katanya dan indah bahasanya.
karya karyanya sagnat banyak dan yang paling terkenal tentu saja maulid
diba' ini.

Makna dan isi kandungan maulid diba ini adalah syair syair sanjungan dan
pujian kepada Nabi Muhammad SAW serta kisah dan riwayat perjalanan hidup
Rasulullah SAW yang dirangkai dengan kata kata indah atau biasa disebut
"nadhom". terdapat lirik dan bait bait sholawat pula didalamnya serta
sesekali diselingi dengan lantunan qasidah sehingga tak heran jika kitab
maulid diba ini banyak dibaca karena memang mengandung khasiat dan
manfaat yang besar.
