Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Fog Watch on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

Even though I enter the correct details, it keeps saying authentication error everytime. I cant sign in. I registered again and there was the same problem.

I have been using this App since last 2 months and have collected over 135 sets of data over this period. However, it has been giving some problems last couple of days.... hence tried logging out the same .. but now I cant log in back into the system :-( I donno wht's is the solution now.... Thanks and regards, Pranab

About this app

By enrolling citizen scientists like yourself, this App crowdsources geo-located and real-time data on the presence and density of fog. The data that you record will be uploaded to a server in Kathmandu and augmented with surface and satellite observations to construct a complete picture of the persistent fog that plagues the Indo-Gangetic Plain and Brahmaputra Basin every winter.

A few times each day, you will be prompted for some simple information about the current weather conditions at your location. Please join hundreds of citizen scientists from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, and Pakistan to help researchers in those countries understand the causes and remedies of the winter fog.

Become a STAR participant by submitting at least 3 data points per day between 5 AM and 10 PM. See if you can attain MEDALLION and GOLD status. Citizen scientists who provide accurate and regular data throughout the winter will receive a printable certificate.
