You can't really set preferences or go in depth with your profile. It sucks that you have to swipe down on profiles to get any information (which didn't work) and judge things from a small photo that might not even appear at all. The article that described this app that got me interested said it had a focus on POC but all I saw were white people, I'm really trying to find that community of LGBT folk.

Okay, so! Love the app, the idea behind it, just gonna suggest some improvements that I think could be made to bring it to the next level. For one, profiles. Should be more extensive! They should an option for writing like Tinder, to give more details about yourself and what you're looking for. Also, I think pictures should be a requirement. Second, there should be filters for when you look for people, like age, sexuality, whether they're poly or not, etc. Those sorts of things would be great!

I usually don't leave reviews unless I feel strongly. And unfortunately, my experience with this app was garbage, which is especially disappointing considering how long I'd been following its development. It's underdeveloped, far from user-friendly, and the selection of users is repetitive. It's just so half-baked. Maybe I'll revisit in the future, after further progress, but I'm not able to support a social networking app this poor in quality, even if it is for the LGBTQIA+ community.

I've been checking in on this app since day one and it seems to have moved backwards. I really like the wide selection of sexualities and even had to look a couple of them up , which is always a joy for a freak like me. I love that gender is a write in option. But the lack of development for location and bio settings? That's just not tenable in this kind of app.... And it's baffling because I'm pretty sure older versions of the app had them. It's been three years since this app was announced and today it still doesn't have swipe working somehow... The community NEEDS an app like this, the market demand is there. I would be willing to help work on this myself if it meant we could actually have this thing up and running.

Well it's pretty much what I had head from others but I didn't really think it would be this broken. Good side first. Setting up a profile is easy, I love that you get to type in your gender. That's cool. The bad side, it's purpose of a dating site is completely broke. You see someone and click on them, it goes to the next person in the stack... You can't view anyone's picture, just what you can see of them cropped in landscape. It's a dating app where you can't search any profiles. As an app idea it sound good! However the app it's self is so un-useable it's shot it's self in the foot. I downloaded it, and uninstalled it after minutes after trying it. Kind of sad as I was looking forward to an app like this.

Wonderful idea, some flaws in execution. Wish it had some sort of first time user tutorial to explain what's going on. I honestly have no idea how the explore page works. I feel like there is probably a location setting somewhere but I just can't find it. A way to restrict to a certain age range you're interested in would also be nice. And I wish it didn't crop the profile photos so weirdly and just display them instead of making you tap to open them up.

About this app

Thurst hopes to reshape and change the way we all view sex, gender, and sexuality. We ask users to consider how we share and express love. Thurst is decolonizing dating through broadening the idea of who deserves love and how love can be given and received online. We believe that love, both interpersonal and collective, requires justice - our aim is to make an online space where historically underrepresented and discriminated peoples can feel more seen, heard, and affirmed.

Most dating platforms are trans-exclusive or not safe enough for marginalized members of the queer community. Through creating and continuing to develop Thurst, we hope to
reshape and change the way we all view gender, sexuality, and how we share and
express love.
