Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Student Planner on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. This is ridiculous - I have tried to log in at least 5 times now in the past 2 days and it just gets stuck on the 'logging in' screen. I left my phone on the app for over an hour and it still wouldn't log me in: this problem needs to be fixed.

For some reason when I load it up, put in my details and login, it gets stuck on the welcome screen. Do you know any way to fix this?

The app just about works, but it's poorly designed. No material design for Android. The iOS version doesn't use iOS styling and the iPad version, while slightly better thought through, is 5 years old. The windows version is outdated too. It's not well though through and buggy. It should provide more functionality that the firefly student dashboard provides. With all of the downsides, the app is not worth using. If there was some more functionality at least, it could be tolerable.

It's wayyy to slow. When connected to wifi I cannot tick tasks off says required parameter... Also when you press the tick button wish it would tick of the task instead of opening the page up. Could be a very useful app...

Takes a while to load, no material design, no tasker integration, only shows homework and timetable and doesn't have Google calendar integration. Disappointed

The app is messy, useless and unoptimised. Tasks refuse to be marked as "Done". Interface is awful. App is painfully slow. Don't download.

About this app

Does your school use Firefly 5? If so, the Student Planner app is your go to place to check on homework and your timetable.

Student Planner integrates with your school's Firefly Learning Platform so you can access your timetable and homework from your Android phone.

Automatically populated from your school timetable so you don't need to enter any of your classes, and teachers can push homework directly to your planner. You can also manually add your own homework or other tasks and associate them with particular lessons and teachers. These automatically synchronise with your account on your school's Firefly Learning Platform.

Features include:

- View your school timetable
- See homework set by your teachers
- Add your own homework and tasks
- Receive push notifications when teachers set you new tasks, send you messages or send you links
- Access your school's Firefly system without having to log in again

Please note: you will need to know your school's code to log in for the first time. Ask your teacher or network administrator if you are not sure what it is.
