Not terribly accurate, but that's to be expected. My Pixel 5 consistently read 10-15 dB lower than an inexpensive dB meter (BAFX 3370). At 100-105 dB, it read 88-92 dB, and at 45-47 dB, it read around 35. If you have access to a proper dB meter to get an idea of how accurate this app is on your phone, you could use the app to get a rough idea of sound levels when you don't have a meter on hand. The ads are very intrusive, so that's a bummer, but the app works about as well as it could.

Every app that has audible ads that can't be muted from the app's settings, is getting 1 star from me. I'm an apps developer and it's very easy to make such a feature. I don't care if there's a mute button while the ad is playing. That's irrelevant.

Come on developer We need more than 5 seconds of the app being opened before we could determine if you're app works & if you need one/five stars @ that time. give it a break already.. After I've reviewed your app then I'll post here for you and I will give the absolute truth at THAT/POINT in time. You can trust that!! Peace out and I'm back quiet✌️.

I hoped my experience was a result of the phone I used but after trying it in a OnePlus 9 pro, Note 10 & galaxy s20 I can say the results are wrong. Some apps allow calibration which this doesn't but it doesn't matter. For some reason 89db seems to be the max it reads and just saying "hi" at normal talking level 5' away registers with a 89db peak. Oddly nothing goes above 89db and the mentioned 10db off in another review doesn't apply to me. There is no rhyme or reason to what it's off by.

Just what I was looking for in an app that measures sound. Simple, effective, and it tells me what measurements can be compared to such as "a loud conversation " or a "lawnmower." Id recommend this app if you are trying to measure how loud anything is

About this app

Want to measure sound level? This is smart sound level meter app for Android!
Our decibel meter uses your built-in microphone to measure sound volume in decibels (dB) and also displays samples on helpful graph.

NOTE: Microphones in most devices are aligned to human voice and the maximum values are limited by the hardware. Very loud sounds (~90 dB and more) may not be recognized. Automatic gain control used in some devices may interfere with the operation of this noise meter.
