I like sololearn a lot. I've been using it to learn Python mainly, but have looked at other courses too. It's easy and even though it has a life system i feel like the subscription can be useful to me. I find it's format enjoyable as well. I don't enjoy waiting so long for hearts but usually after the wait i can go back and not lose any at all.

Great app to learn coding, good for beginners who don't know where to start. Lessons contain digestible amounts of information that make it easy to follow on a daily schedule. My biggest complaint, however, is that the streak function doesn't work at all. Why add a function to your app if it doesn't work at all or doesn't intend to execute its desired purpose? Edit: Sololearn team fixed the streak issue, for me at least. Thank you very much for that!

Anazing! I have only tried a few levels, but I have had so much fun and am surprised with how quick I'm learning this. Not only does it pace you through each step efficiently, but the way it's set up to make sure you're retaining the information is incredible. It hasn't felt like you're dragging along, and my favorite part is the hands-on approach it invites giving you the opportunity to create your own unique spin on which ever code you're learning at that time. This app is a game changer.

I used Soloearn a year ago & it used to allow the free version user to enter code into the Python coding window. About a week ago I decided I want to reinstall it and try again, the coding exercises are for the Pro version only. All I get now is the fill in the blank type of exercises; this is like studying math by reading 😂, without solving practice problems. Also, concepts are incoplete, which frustrates users instead of showing them they can code, and be motivated to pay for the pro version.

Edit: THIS APP IS INCREDIBLE! I have tried other apps and audited courses on coursera and udemy and such, but nothing holds a candle to this in terms of interactive practices and the ability to retain the information through repetition and scoring systems. Worth every penny for the paid version, and I'm not easily separated from my money. You will not regret getting the paid version. Save your bit points for module tests, and just check the comments for each problem after failing an answer.

I was enjoying this quite a bit. But they keep putting more and more features behind a pay wall. Don't get me wrong, I understand money needs to be made. But when features were free, and then aren't after an update, it's a letdown. Instead of them actually developing new content for paid features and letting old content be used for free. Codewars is a solid resource for free on a web browser for people who are now limited on practice material.
