About this app

Use this app at our events in the Engine Shed, Scotland’s dedicated building conservation centre based in Stirling, and visualise a 3D model of the Mitsubishi Giant Cantilever Crane, built in 1909.

ABOUT THE CRANE
The Giant Cantilever Crane at the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries shipyard in the Port of Nagasaki is a major landmark in a city with strong historical links to Scotland. It was designed by the Glasgow Electric Crane and Hoist Company and constructed by the Motherwell Bridge Company.

Along with Glasgow School of Art, Historic Environment Scotland 3D laser scanned the Nagasaki crane as part Scottish Ten, a project to digitally document Scotland’s then five World Heritage Sites and a further five international heritage sites.
