Don't waste your time on the free trial, use audible instead! I signed up for the free 30 day trial. I logged in to cancel the automatic subscription one day after my trial expired, but because they automatically started playing the audio book I had open from my previous session, they claimed that I accessed premium content and refused to refund me. Now I'm forced to pay for a YEAR, ridiculous!

They have now split their stuff into 2 apps. Everand is basically the old scribd... and it pushed a lot of woke, trans, queer, etc. stuff. Its suggested picks inevitably contain a running list of useless material such as that. Scribd is now for user uploaded documents. It would have been simpler to simply add a category in the old scribd for user content, but that would have made too much sense. Really, you can generally find useful content elsewhere so why bother with the 2 apps.

I am writing to express not just disappointment, but sheer disbelief at the situation I've found myself in with your service. After registering for a free trial to obtain a specific document, I made sure to cancel the subscription. Imagine my shock when I discovered that for the past seven months, you have been quietly siphoning $9.99 monthly from my account – a total of $70 for a service I never used after the trial. UPDATE: the issue has been resolved

I have this app on my phone since 2021 and I LOVED it! But since last month, not a single book is getting downloaded or opening. Also, don't see the point in splitting an app into two. The icing on the cake is neither is working!! So disappointed to see another of my favorite apps go...cancelling my subscription after multiple futile attempts of opening a book since last month. 😥

I don't think there's a need to split the app into 2 from user's perspective. It takes up more space of my phone memory. Also, after updating it today, it can't even open anything except for the ones that I have downloaded. I tried to turn off the dark mode, clear cache, and restarted the phone but it didn't solve the problem.

i liked the app very much, being a user of scribd 15 years now, and have membership over 10 years and would give 5 stars. What i hate is the need to install another app (everend) to make the scribd app to work with my saved books. i use to be very selective and try to leave the number of installed apps so low as possible and i see no reason to have an extra app installed on my phone, this explains the 3 stars
