I'm using a Nexus 7 2B (2013) that had been mostly disabled by push updates to its firmware, different from Android version updates. Had to do a factory reset, which restored disabled functions. Most apps say they "may be incompatible with your device", but all are OK, no far. Sorry to say, Science News (must have warned me) is a disaster. It probably uses the Brave browser, but creating a page to display doesn't stop, and all sorts of crazy things continue to happen as I try to read. Try Win 7?
