Input several different excerpts here from books like Game of Thrones and Don Quixote. Came back with results of around 2nd grade reading level and very high ease score for the game of thrones except (which had words like "nonplussed" and "tourney", both above 2nd grade reading), and reading level of 34 and low ease level for the Don Quixote excerpt, which was an accurate analysis. Wouldn't recommend.

About this app

This app calculates the Flesch Reading Ease Score (FRES), the Flesch-Kincaid (F-K) Grade Level, and the Gunning Fog Index scores.
These readability tests are designed to indicate comprehension difficulty when reading a passage of contemporary academic English.

In the FRES test, higher scores indicates material that is easier to read; lower numbers mark passages that are more difficult to read. The FRES ranges from 0 to 100. A score of 90.0-100.0 is easily understood by an average 11-year-old student. Score of 60.0-70.0 is easily understood by 13- to 15-year-old students. Score of 0.0-30.0 is best understood by university graduates.

The F-K Grade Level Score, used extensively in the field of education, presents a score as a U.S. grade level. It is used extensively in the field of education.

The Gunning Fog index is commonly used to confirm that text can be read easily by the intended audience.

This app allows you to easily send the score to another app. Other apps may also easily send blocks of texts to this app for analysis.
