This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Art Gallery: Discover Art on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.

A fantastic collection of paintings, even more beautiful and extremely sharp when cast to a TV screen. Nearly 3,000 photos. Virtually all the great art of the world with information about each work and links to Wikipedia articles further exploration. Nice on your phone but absolutely astounding when using Google Chromecast to cast to your TV screen where the resolution is superb on an HD TV. Would love to try it on a 4K TV. This is an absolute "must" for art lovers. Should be an Editors Choice. I can't say enough about how impressed and grateful I am to Raru software.

About this app

The Art Gallery is a small, fine selection of paintings of iconic artists.
Among them are works by Caspar David Friedrich, Albrecht Dürer, Sandro Botticelli, Johannes Vermeer, Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, Jan van Eyck, Diego Velázquez, Joan Miró, Paul Cézanne, J. M. W. Turner, Thomas Eakins, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Thomas Gainsborough, Salvador Dalí and many more.

Learn interesting details about 555 individual pieces or read the corresponding Wikipedia articles on the
masterpieces. The descriptions are mainly in English.

An integrated Quiz allows you to test your knowledge about the artists and their paintings. You will learn the specific styles of individual painters, their most famous works and its names.
Mark your favorite paintings in the gallery. Use the filter symbol within the titelbar to filter paintings either by favorites, by same artist or by same decade. Share your favorite painting with others via mail or Google+
From the gallery you can also set a painting as the wallpaper for your phone/tablet.

Do not expect perfect high-resolution replica of the artworks.
All images are sourced from the media library Wikimedia Commons.
To load the image files a fast internet connection is needed. You can reduce data traffic by deactivating high image resolution within the settings menu.

About permissions :
- INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE : used for getting data from wikipedia and the ads
- SET_WALLPAPER : used to set a painting as wallpaper from gallery
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE : used to share a painting via mail or other services

There is also a premium version "Art Gallery Plus" which contains a lot more paintings.
Furthermore "Art Gallery Plus" supports Google's Chromecast so you can present the famous paintings on your TV.
