This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing RAPID Business Cards on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

This app provides a very concise way of sharing contacts and following events, and I would definitely use it and recommend to my friends! Here are some obstacles I met when using it (Android v. 7.0): -- After switching on 'pro-mode' settings may be accessed only through 'events' screen. That's not really convenient. Moreover, because of that after switching the 'pro-mode' off one must go through 'events' screen again, which must not happen in the 'pro-mode' (as description puts it). -- Potential bug with an 'events' icon, I guess. Here's how to reenact it: Go to settings -> Switch on 'pro-mode' -> Go back to the main screen -> Go to 'events' screen -> Go back to the main screen -> Observe no 'events' icon. -- After I log in using a social profile icons are still on the screen. It leaves me confused: do I re-log by simply clicking on another icon or I should search for a log out button and then log in by clicking on a desired icon? -- Not all functionality is obvious. E.g, there is a blue icon on a card, which responds with a 'via email', 'via phone' etc. Only after two taps do I see that it shares the card. Other than that, the app is cool!

HOW IT WORKS


When you download the RAPID Business Cards app, make an account by either entering your information or signing in with any social network.
Make sure all of your contact information is correct, exactly how you would want it on a paper business card. Include an image of yourself or the logo of your company so your connections remember who you are.
When you meet someone you’d like to share your information with pull up the RAPID app and it will automatically bring up your personal QR Code. Show your code to the person you’re connecting with, they can scan the code with most smartphone cameras.
Once they scan your code your information will be added onto their contacts and all they have to do is hit “save”.
