What is an ICO?

An ICO is a fundraising tool much like IPOs that allow investors of any size to trade future cryptocoins in exchange for cryptocurrencies. Generally, you send the ICO Bitcoin or Ethereum and in return you receive the coin that the company is creating. Traditionally, IPOs have had high barriers to entry in terms of minimum capital contribution, preventing a lot of interested investors from investing. However, with the introduction of ICOs, people can invest as little as a few dollars. This is changing the game in the venture capital space.

Can I make money?

As with investing in stocks, bonds, and real estate, investing in ICOs / cryptocurrency has both upside and downside.
