الرضا مَقامٌ عظيم من مقامات الإيمانِ واليقين، والتخلُّقُ به لا يتأتى إلا بعد طولِ عبادة وذِكر، وفهمٍ ومعرفة وفكر.
وبالحصول عليه، والتمكنِ منه يتخطى المؤمنُ في إيمانه بالأقدار أعظَمَ اختبار في الحياة، وتصبح الآلام والشدائد عنده لذائذَ؛ لأنَّه يتعامل مع الأقدار الإلهية بلُغةِ الحب والرضا، لا بلُغةِ الاختبار والتحدي.
وليعلمْ يقينًا بأن الله سبحانه ما ابتلاه إلا ليرقيَه في مدارج الكمال؛ مصداقًا لقوله تعالى: ﴿ وَعَسَى أَنْ تَكْرَهُوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ ﴾ [البقرة: 216].
نعم، أجملُ ما في الإيمان بالأقدار، المقترنِ بالرضا: أنه يخلِّص الإنسانَ من رتابة الحياة، ويُنجيه من الملل.

وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «مَنْ يَأْخُذُ عَنّي هَؤُلاَءِ الكَلِمَاتِ فَيَعْمَلُ بِهِن أو يُعَلّمُ مَنْ يعْمَلُ بِهِنّ؟» قلت: أنا يا رسول الله! فأخذ يدي فعدَّ خمسًا، فقال: «اتَّقِ المحارِم تكن أعبد الناس، وارضَ بما قسَم الله لك تكن أغنى الناس، وأحسِن إلى جارِك تكن مؤمنًا، وأحبَّ للناس ما تحب لنفسك تكن مسلمًا، ولا تُكثِر الضحك؛ فإنَّ كثرة الضحك تميتُ القلب»
