Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.

London Plaques is a guide to 2,500 plaques erected to commemorate famous people, places or events.

Find out about what each plaque commemorates, enriching your knowledge of some of the famous people who lived in London and historical events.


Features of London Plaques
- 2,500 plaques in total ( Free version has 400 plaques )

- search by Borough, Category or Subject
Discover the plaques in a particular area by searching from one of London's 33 boroughs, or select from over 120 categories from artists to technology.
Alternatively search by name. Charles Dickens, for example, appears in 11 plaques.

- Map view
Select the map view to see the plaques on a Google Map. Click on a pin to access the Street View.

- Browse mode
Explore the plaques using the Browse mode. A great way to discover something unexpected. You're sure
to find something to surprise you.

- Nearby mode
With the full version, you can discover plaques near your current location. A map displays those plaques near your phone or tablet and you can get directions to find them.

- Wikipedia embedded
Each plaque has information about its address, the full inscription and a relevant Wikipedia page to learn more
about the subject. Simply scroll down to read it. Those with no Wikipedia page usually have a page from another
website.

- Easily navigable
Swipe left and right to go forward and back through a list of plaques. Then scroll up and down to see the detail and the wikipedia page.


London plaques, based on data from openplaques.org, includes the results of extensive use of Google's Streetview to find exact latitudes and longitudes for each plaque wherever possible. Those plaques away from roads, such as in parks, have a close position and an address description that gives more detail on where to find it.

Improvements
If you have further information about a particular plaque or find one that is not included, then you can email the author with a location and a photo of it and it will be included in later releases.
