This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing PBIS Rewards Staff on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.

The website seems to be a wonderful tool, so I was eager to download the app to more easily reward my students for their hard work. Unfortunately, every time I attempt to log in, I repeatedly get the error: The connection to the server was unsuccessful. (file:///android_asset/www/index.htlm) I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and I have tried restarting my phone. Nothing has resolved the issue. I am sure this app will be amazing once the bugs are fixed, but til then it's disappointing.

About this app

The PBIS Rewards System is a tool and tracking system for schools that follow a PBIS framework and utilize rewards to encourage positive behavior. The PBIS Rewards System simplifies giving rewards and redeeming rewards by taking advantage of the scanning capabilities of smartphones and tablets.

Teachers and Administrators give students points by scanning a bar code or QR code assigned to the student. The process is fast and simple. The bar code can be on a nametag, desk sticker, class roster sheet, or a student ID badge. Students can then redeem points for privileges and/or items using a similar process.

The backend system supports the concept of events and a store. There is a simple interface for creating and managing events and items within the store. The backend system also keeps track of students and teachers and all activity related to giving points and point totals.

Teachers and Administrators can access a desktop system to review a student's history, balance, etc. Administrators have the ability to add and remove students and add and manage teacher access.

New features

This version of the Staff App has been replaced by a new version that fixes a security control issue. This issue was created by a recent change by Adobe and impacts the Android version of the App. The change, unfortunately, breaks the normal app update process. To work around this issue, PBIS Rewards has published a new Staff App that is available for download right now. Please follow the in-app instruction to migrate your data to the new app. This version will be discontinued at a later date.
